30 protesters against the delimitation were detained in Armenia /b.r. determination of the position of the state border between neighboring countries according to cartographic materials, cadastral documentation, other reference materials and data and its application to topographic maps/ on the border with Azerbaijan, which blocked the road in the village of Kirants in Tavush region, RIA Novosti reported.

„30 people were taken from Kirants village to the police station”, police sources told the agency.

The public organization “Tavush for the name of the motherland” stated that in the morning the residents of Kirants, who blocked the road, “used brute force” and were taken to the police station of the city of Ijevan.

Activists claim that the MP from the opposition faction "Armenia" is currently among those detained. Garnik Danielyan, and considerable law enforcement forces were sent to the village itself.

Soon it became known that all the detainees had been released.

In mid-April, special commissions of Armenia and Azerbaijan preliminarily agreed on the border between four Azerbaijani and four Armenian villages (including Kerants). Thus, it is expected that the border will be aligned with the one that existed between the Soviet republics at the time of the collapse of the USSR.

This sparked protests in Armenia. Since April 20, activists have blocked various highways, including the road leading to Georgia in the Tavush region. They demand to stop the process of delimitation and transfer of border territories of Azerbaijan.
